Campus Technology Environment

Inspiring Discovery, Creating Connections

Cutting-edge classroom technologies, customized web-based platforms, wireless connectivity. Serving the needs of one of the most selective and diverse academic communities in the world, Wharton's technology environment inspires discovery and collaboration – from groundbreaking research to global conferences to the insights that come from personal interactions and firsthand experience.

Wharton Computing is an active partner, helping students, faculty, staff, and visitors make the most of the exceptional opportunities possible in their research, education, and personal experience at Wharton.

Connected – Across Campus and Around the World

Wharton's wired and wireless environment provides access to a host of innovative technology features developed for (and often with) Wharton students and faculty – as well as the campus-wide capabilities of the University of Pennsylvania. Students can access course materials, reserve rooms, check upcoming events, and register for classes using Wharton's student intranet SPIKE, available on the Web, by cell phone or PDA, on plasma displays throughout the campus, and by e-mail subscription.

Jon M. Huntsman Hall

At the center of Wharton's academic and community life, the technology of the Jon M. Huntsman Hall supports Wharton's interactive approach to learning and research. Designed to be both "pervasive" and "transparent," the technology is available everywhere without being intrusive – from classrooms and computer labs to group study rooms, informal student gathering spaces, cafés, and hallway computer stations. The same advanced technology is built into Wharton's academic facility in San Francisco, Wharton West.

"The Technology of NASA"

"The first time I saw Huntsman Hall, I was amazed. I thought it had the technology of NASA. The individual and group study rooms are an invaluable resource and a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of campus."
