Wharton Instruction Center

Tools for Student Engagement and Assessment

From learning student names to taking attendance and submitting final grades, the Wharton Instruction Center provides faculty with a broad set of instructional tools. Together with webCafé, the Instruction Center enables Wharton faculty to interact with students more effectively, and to manage the administrative aspects of their classes more efficiently.

Student photos can be viewed online, downloaded, or sent to Wharton Reprographics to print student "face cards." Faculty can track student attendance and performance using an intuitive interface, with students arranged as they sit in class. An Excel spreadsheet can be exported for student grading and uploaded with final grades or raw scores for one-click submission of final grades – which are then available to students online through PennInTouch.

Wharton's Instruction Center provides faculty with:

  • Online Roster – Access student photos and information online or print "face cards" through Wharton Reprographics.
  • Interactive Seating Chart – Seat students interactively or select the "auto seat" option to automatically seat students randomly or by learning team.
  • Attendance and Class Participation Tracking – Use the interactive seating chart to log the attendance for each class.
  • Electronic Grade Submission – Enter grades online or upload an Excel spreadsheet containing final grades or raw scores.
