Networking

Wired and Wireless Connectivity

The Wharton Wireless Network provides students with easy access to the wireless network all across campus as part of the PennNet Wireless Network. In addition, wired Ethernet connections are available in all Group Study Rooms, from the Wharton Lectern in School classrooms and conference rooms, and throughout Wharton buildings.

Among the features offered by the Wharton Wireless Network:

  • High-speed wireless network in most public areas around Wharton and across the Penn campus. Traditional Ethernet wall jacks are also available in Wharton's buildings and in libraries throughout campus.
  • Connect from your laptop, notebook computer, or wireless handheld device without the need for a network cable or a wall jack.
  • No pre-registration is needed, just a standard University PennKey username and password.
  • Print directly to Wharton Lab printers from your laptop while connected to the wireless network on campus.

Easy Access Across Campus

"The wireless environment is great. It's easy to log on all across campus – in study cubicles, around the Forum lounge area. If you're meeting with a faculty member during office hours to review a posted assignment, you can bring your laptop, pull up the file, and go through it on the spot."

Megan Myers, W'09

From student cafés to the outdoor plazas, wireless network access is available nearly everywhere. Wired hookups are also available throughout Wharton buildings, in all Group Study Rooms, and through the Wharton Lectern in classrooms and conference rooms.

A Connected Campus

"The technological resources are amazing. One of my friends at another business school was floored when he saw Huntsman—he said he'd never seen anything like it."
