Each term, the IDEA Courseware Team offers a series of faculty training sessions to share teaching tools and best practices. Any teaching team members or staff are welcome to attend. Recordings of each Zoom-delivered webinar session will be shared with registrants, so feel free to register even if you can’t make it to the live session. New Options for Course Materials @ Penn Libraries with Leganto

On Demand TrainingWant to learn how to streamline access to assigned reading material for your students? Watch this demo of the Course Materials @ Penn Libraries system, hosted by Mia Wells from the Lippincott Library of the Wharton School. Mia will show you how to submit your syllabus to the library and how the staff there will build your customized reading list and load it directly into your course Canvas site. Beyond the list creation, you’ll also see how to flexibly edit and interact with the list if you want to make changes throughout the semester.

Making Your Course Accessible to Students with Disabilities

Accessibility bannerLive Webinar | Ensure your Canvas site and course materials are accessible to students with all abilities. This session will demonstrate how to use the default accessibility checker in Canvas as well as the UDOIT dashboard to identify and fix accessibility issues in your Canvas course sites. We’ll also show you some simple steps for making videos, images, and files (including your syllabus and lecture slides) accessible.

On-Campus Training in JMHH 375 | Using a lockdown browser for in-person exams on Canvas is a great way to prevent cheating. Join us at this short in-person workshop to learn how to enable the tool and see how it works from both the student’s and instructor’s perspective.

Creating Engaging Discussions with Harmonize

Design AI In or Out: Intentional Assessment Design with AI in Mind

This webinar will arm attendees with strategies for designing learning activities and assessments specifically with AI in mind. We will consider approaches that will intentionally limit students’ ability to effectively use AI, as well as those that build in opportunities for AI use.
